Lip gel injection
Lip gel is an injectable filler that gives volume to your lips and makes them more beautiful and visible. Lip fillers are made from synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance in your body.
Who is lip gel injection suitable for?
Lip gel injection is a personal decision but it is better to get the gel:
Have good physical health.
Have realistic expectations.
Do not have active oral infections, including pests or herpes.
Many people who use lip fillers want to increase the size of their lips. You may want to increase the size of your lips for a number of reasons, including:
Restoring Lip Size: As you age, your lips may become smaller or thinner.
Correcting the shape of your lips: It is common for your lips to have different sizes or shapes (asymmetrical).
Wrinkle smoothing: When you smile or laugh, wrinkles sometimes form on the sides of your mouth.
Why use lip filler?
Injecting gel into the lips increases their volume, slows down the aging process, injecting lip gel can also help you achieve the look you want, which increases your self-esteem.
How long do lip fillers last?
Lip fillers usually last 12 to 18 months. However, it depends on your age and how fast your body breaks down calories into energy (metabolism).
The US Food and Drug Administration has not approved the use of lip fillers in people under 21 years of age. As a result, you must be at least 21 years old to receive FDA-approved lip fillers.
Lip filler injection method
During the injection, your doctor will apply a local anesthetic to your lips. Local anesthesia numbs your lips so that you do not feel pain and the process is as comfortable as possible. About 15 to 30 minutes later, your lips should be numb. If you are allergic to any type of anesthetic, be sure to tell your doctor.
Your doctor will then use a thin needle to inject lip filler into any or all of your lips. You will not feel any pain, but you may feel a tingling sensation.
The whole procedure may take 30 minutes to an hour.
What happens after a lip gel injection?
After completing this procedure, your doctor may gently massage your lips to absorb the filler. You can use ice packs to reduce swelling. The swelling usually goes away after 24 to 48 hours, but may last up to a week.
The following tips will help improve your lips:
Use an ice pack for up to 10 minutes to reduce inflammation, pain and swelling.
Do not use lipstick, lip balm or any other product on the lips for at least 24 hours.
Be careful brushing your teeth.
Drink lots of water.
Avoid exercise for at least 24 hours.
